Massage in Hamam Side

Massage in a Turkish Hamam is performed in a temperature controlled private room to prevent the body from cooling too quickly after the bath rituals. Therapists adjust oil type and technique based on skin sensitivity following the kese exfoliation, which makes the skin more receptive but also more delicate. Because pores are fully open, lighter oils are commonly used to allow fast absorption and comfortable skin balance. The massage lasts 20 minutes and focuses on even pressure, steady rhythm, and full-body flow to support circulation and relaxation rather than deep muscle therapy. This approach helps rebalance body temperature after heat exposure, reduces post hamam fatigue, and allows guests to continue their day without discomfort, whether relaxing or joining activities such as yacht rental in Side.

Turkish Hamam and SPA center supports both physical recovery and mental balance by combining heat, cleansing, and controlled relaxation in a structured sequence. Regular hamam use helps improve blood circulation, supports joint mobility, and reduces muscle stiffness caused by travel, long walks, or daily stress. The deep cleansing process removes surface impurities and excess oil, which can improve skin texture and support natural renewal. Heat and steam also help regulate breathing and promote gentle detox through sweating, while the calm environment lowers stress levels and supports better sleep quality. Hamam means a traditional Turkish bath. The word comes from Arabic and means “a place of heat.” In practice, a hamam is a bathhouse based on warmth, steam, marble surfaces, and manual water cleansing rather than modern showers.

How does a Turkish bath work?

A Turkish bath works by heating stone and marble surfaces through an underground furnace or modern heating system. These surfaces radiate gentle heat, keeping the room at about 40–50°C with high humidity. Steam prevents dry air, while manual water washing maintains stable temperature. The body warms gradually, pores open, muscles relax, and the skin is softened for exfoliation and cleansing.

What is the difference between a Turkish bath and a hamam?

There is no real difference. “Turkish bath” is the English term, while “hamam” is the traditional name. Both refer to the same bathing ritual based on heat, steam, and body cleansing.

What is the difference between a Turkish bath and a sauna?

A Turkish bath uses moist heat and steam at moderate temperatures (around 40–50°C), with washing, exfoliation, and massage as part of the ritual. A sauna uses dry heat at much higher temperatures (70–100°C) and focuses on sweating only, without washing or massage during the session.

The spa was okay, not bad but felt a bit rushed and crowded. Staff was polite but could be more attentive. The facilities are decent but not outstanding. Good for a quick relax, nothing extraordinary.

Some parts were nice but I was expecting more RELAXATION. The steam room was too hot and the massage quick. Felt a bit like a rush job, not very personal at all. Not BAD but not special either. Would try something ELSE next time.
